HISTORY OF THE CARM. O. L.
The Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of Our Lady was born on February 11, 1982 in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
In May 1962, the Sisters of Mt. Carmel from Louisiana, USA, opened a mission in the Philippines through the invitation of Bishop Epifanio B. Surban. He asked Msgr. Fidelis Limcaco, a Carmelite priest assigned in Escalante, to find Carmelite Sisters who can teach in the parochial schools. While in the States, Msgr. Limcaco met the Carmelite Sisters of Louisiana and talked to them. .
VOCATIONS
Vocation means “call.” Our vocation gives shape to how our hearts were created to love and be loved. It is a gift and an invitation to be received, and God initiates this call in the heart. We cannot earn or create it. He speaks it into the depths of our heart, and we respond in freedom and generosity, trusting in the graces of peace and joy.
Prayer
A prayer is a heartfelt communication with a higher power, expressing gratitude, seeking guidance, or asking for blessings. It is a personal or communal act of faith, often characterized by reverence, humility, and a desire for spiritual connection or intervention. Through prayer, individuals or groups affirm their beliefs and aspirations, finding solace, strength, and hope in their spiritual practice.
God loves you for you.
But in the ups and downs of life, it’s easy to forget that. That’s why Jesus invites you: Come. Look deeper. Re-encounter your own goodness. Receive the Love that frees you to live in the truth of who you are.
